What are the requirements of automotive PCB process: selected substrates, quality assurance
Automotive PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Process Requirements
PCB as an important electronic component in the automotive electronic control system, its process requirements need to be strictly controlled. The following is the automotive PCB process requirements:
I. Substrate selection
Automotive PCB needs to have high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, dimensional stability and other characteristics, so the general use of FR4, CEM-1, aluminum substrate and other materials as a substrate. Among them, FR4 has high heat resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, is one of the commonly used base materials for automotive PCB.
Second, the board thickness selection
The board thickness of the automotive PCB is generally 0.5-3.0mm specifications, which can be adjusted according to actual needs. Thicker plates can provide better mechanical strength and electrical properties, suitable for carrying larger electronic components.
Third, the surface treatment
The surface treatment of automotive PCBs generally use gold plating, gold immersion, tin spraying and other processes to enhance its electrical properties and corrosion resistance. At the same time, in order to meet the reliability requirements of the automotive electronic control system, the surface treatment also needs to undergo strict quality inspection to ensure that the surface is free of defects, oxidation and pollution.
Fourth, the layout design
Automotive PCB layout design needs to follow the “reasonable partition, near the layout” principle, the function of similar components placed in the same area, reduce the length of wiring, improve electrical performance and reliability. At the same time, it is also necessary to consider the heat dissipation design to ensure that high-temperature components can get effective heat dissipation.
Five, wiring design
Automotive PCB wiring design needs to follow the “safe, reliable, simple” principle, choose the appropriate line width and line spacing to ensure stable transmission of current and signal. At the same time, it is also necessary to consider electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), to take appropriate protective measures, such as the installation of filters, magnetic rings and so on.
Six, welding quality
Automotive PCB welding quality for the stability of the entire electronic control system is critical. Therefore, the need to use high-quality welding materials and welding process to ensure that the solder joints full, smooth, no welding, leakage welding and other phenomena. At the same time, it is also necessary to carry out rigorous inspection of the welding quality, found that the problem is dealt with in a timely manner.
